Overview
Aims
To provide an educational framework for health care professionals training patients to self test or manage oral anticaogulation.
Learning objectives
- A knowledge of the theoretical and practical competencies required by patients in terms of blood coagulation theory, use of point of care device, dosage decisions, documentation and quality control procedures.
- A knowledge and provision of the educational materials required to train patients.
- An understanding of guidelines for self management
to ensure good clinical practice.
